4th July confirmed…
but only for Hairdressers and Barbers

Yesterday lunchtime the Prime Minister confirmed that hairdressers and barbers can re-open on 4th July in England. It was also confirmed that visors would be required to be worn. Everyone is now stepping up their plans in preparation for the big day. We’ve heard some salons have 1000+ clients on their waiting list and some are even planning to open just after midnight on 4th July! Nail Bars and Spas were mentioned as being unable to open until the government announce it is safe to do so. This is very disappointing news for the beauty industry, we hope it won’t be too long before this part of our sector is given the green light to re-open. Health, safety and hygiene are a fundamental part of all beauty treatments, and salons have worked hard to ensure they are fully prepared to open and operate safely. Habia have worked with the government to develop and review the guidance for salons to re-open safely – these were published this morning, go to our website for the link to this guidance… www.habia.org/covid-19
